Case: Stillman Legal P.C. represented Alejandro Ortega, a former deli worker, in a federal wage-and-hour case against 2&5 Line Deli Grocery, Inc. and its owner, Aziz Saleh Alzubaidi, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
After years of litigation, the case proceeded to a jury trial in July 2025. The jury found Defendants liable under the New York Labor Law for failing to pay overtime wages and failing to provide lawful wage statements. The jury awarded Mr. Ortega 100% of damages, and the Court entered judgment with prejudgment interest. The Court later granted Plaintiff’s post-trial motion to amend the judgment to reflect $77,490.00 in liquidated damages, and also granted Plaintiff’s application for $56,968.51 in attorneys’ fees and costs.
